Adorable Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids

With Valentine's Day approaching, you may be busy filling out beautiful cards or cooking up some delicious heart-shaped cookies, by why not also take this opportunity to get crafty with your little ones? Here are some of my favorite Valentine's Day crafts for kids to make and display just in time for February 14th!

  • How cute are these Valentine Paper Roll Owls? You and your child can create your own using Valentine's Day themed paper, empty paper rolls and some googly eyes. Attach a ribbon to the completed owls and you can hang your new friend as decoration for a Valentine's Day party.

  • For a Valentine's Day craft that children of all ages can help create, try these Pom Pom Monsters. They can be assembled in under five minutes and make for an adorable topper for a gift or party favor. Have your child choose the colors for the antennas and feet, help with the hot glue and these little guys are good to go!

  • This String of Hearts paper garland is the perfect craft to brighten up your home for Valentine's Day. Use construction paper to create the hearts, punch a hole on either side and let your kids string them together with bakers twine or yarn. The end result is an adorable garland that everyone will be proud of.

  • If you are hosting a Valentine's Day party this year, you are going to need some adorable favors. So, why not get the kids involved? Make these Valentine Party Favor Tubes together and send your guests home with a fun treat. Choose colorful, patterned scrapbook paper and some red tissue paper and you can create an adorable addition to your party.

  • For a cute table centerpiece, create a fleet of Valentine Love Boats using construction paper, card stock and dowels, lollipop sticks or straws for each mast. You can fill the completed boats with candies or have your child write a Valentine's Day message on each boats' sail.

  • Once Valentine's Day arrives, your kids are sure to receive plenty of Valentines from friends and classmates. Create our Valentine's Day Card Mailbox Craft together so that they can have an adorable way to store all of their love notes. Have them decorate the outside with their favorite stickers and colors.

  • These Salt Dough Necklaces are something that I used to make as a child, so I was very excited to find an updated version for Valentine's Day! Simply bake salt, flour and water at 200 degrees for 1-2 hours and use a cookie cutter to create the heart shape. Have your children paint them with acrylic paints to really let their creativity shine!
