Watermelon Recipes for Summer Parties

Get a little creative with your favorite juicy summer snack and serve up one of these drool-worthy watermelon recipes!

We don't know how it works in your family, but in ours, no summer party or get together is declared a success until the watermelon is served.

Back when we were kids, Grandma kept watermelon simple. She either served it sliced, as balled bites in a bowl or on popsicle sticks.

Now, we've gotten a bit more creative with how we indulge in this summer staple. Check out some delicious drink recipes with watermelon and more creative ways we serve this featured ingredient at our own summer parties.

  • If you have little kids around - stick to what Grandma always did. Slice up and trim your watermelon, then just stick a popsicle stick into them! It's easier for the kids to eat and will avoid the drippy, sticky mess everywhere.

  • Pass around this watermelon margarita to the adults. It's fruity, yet crisp and slightly bitter. We love sipping on these mid-afternoon under the shade of an umbrella. Ah. The sweet life!

  • Now, here's where we get really creative. Watermelon Slice Cupcakes. The cake is really watermelon slices and the icing, yogurt.

Kids and adults will love this watermelon dessert - it's fun, tasty and pretty adorable. Who knew cupcakes could be so healthy, right?

  • Here's a recipe that combines easy eating on a stick with dessert AND cocktails. Baker's Royale came up with a recipe for Watermelon Mojito Popsicles. Trust us, they're delish. Try them!

  • Ok, we have a lot of favorite ways to sip on watermelon. Here's another. It's a watermelon mint cooler punch, which is perfect for when the girls come over to lounge poolside.

  • Before we show you another cocktail, break for lunch. This recipe for a watermelon feta salad is amazing. Never tried it before? Get tasting.

It's ideal for us gals trying to keep waistlines bikini ready, but still need an actual meal to satisfy our cravings. And this covers it all - sweet, savory, tart and sour. Yum!

  • Watermelon has been a long time favorite flavor when it comes to candy. We took that inspiration and made a Watermelon Rock Candy Cocktail.

Yes, it's as good as it looks!

  • Finally, if you're really just not lovin' the tastes of watermelon like us, you can still have some fun with the fruit. Get crafty and carve some artsy watermelon designs like this one from the Family Kitchen.
