5 Creative Homemade Marshmallow Recipes

It's time to cook up some marshmallows! Here are a few marshmallow recipes to test your tummy and skills in the kitchen.

I don't know what it is, but when I was a kid I could eat marshmallows one by one until I felt sick; and I can still do that now. While I have yet to master the art of making homemade mallows, I love the taste, texture and aroma.

A normal recipe consists of caster sugar, unflavored gelatin and corn syrup. You'll need a thermometer of course, and your choice of flavored extract if you prefer one besides vanilla. Once solidified in your greased pan, you can go to town by putting them on sticks, in between graham crackers, topping your hot chocolates or just as I would prefer, eating them just as they are.

Oreo Marshmallows

This recipe from Raspberri Cupcakes really gets me excited. Oreos were always considered their own food group in my house growing up so I was delighted to come across this recipe. It's slightly more complicated than your normal recipe because you have to make three layers of separate marshmallow, but it looks like it's totally worth the added elbow grease.

Chocolate-Dipped Beer Marshmallows

I'm all about a good boozy marshmallow and these happen to be one of my favorites from The Kitchn . A good dark beer and an exceptional milk chocolate is involved in making these little mini bites of goodness.

Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows

I will always associate pumpkins with the fall and winter months. Something about drinking a pumpkin spice latte and curling up with a good book always makes me happy. Now think about if you could toss a pumpkin spice marshmallow or two into that latte? This easy recipe from Delicious by Dre might have to be my first run at making homemade mallows.

Mudslide Marshmallows

And we're back to boozy marshmallows! I'm sorry I couldn't resist. If your into Bailey's or Kahlua, both are ingredients in this recipe from Baker's Royale , so you really can't go wrong. Plus they are coated in dark cocoa powder!

Sriracha Marshmallows

I bet you weren't expecting these bad boys to make the list. I was so intrigued when I found these over on Healthfully Ever After . My roommates are really into hot sauce. We have about 15 different bottles in our apartment at any given time so I've been trying to experiment with different recipes. I definitely didn't think to throw some Sriracha in a marshmallow though. I would love to try this in a hot chocolate or maybe make a spicy s'mores.

Which homemade marshmallow recipe is your favorite? Are there any flavors you'd like to try whipping up?
