50 Year Anniversary Inspirations

50 years of love and happiness is surely a thing to celebrate! Such a joyous occasion should be spent with the ones you love, and the ones that have contributed to achieving such a milestone.

Invite your closest friends and relatives in marking the occasion by hosting a 'fake' second wedding. Chances are, many of the people in your life today weren't part of your original celebration, so give them the opportunity to be part of such an event.

Since the 50th anniversary usually means gold, incorporate the color into your food and decor.

Start with the invites. Since this will be a formal party, give your guests as least a month notice so they have time to make the proper arrangements and RSVP. To stick with the gold theme, create your very own 'golden tickets' with the information for your party.

For the decor, incorporate the color gold into everything you can! To avoid overdoing it, stick with a less flashy color like cream, and use gold in different embellishments and accents. These DIY jeweled napkin rings can be customized to fit your theme. Just use gold gems instead of silver!

Add elegance to the room with a few candles in various shapes and sizes. Make your own candle holders out of mardi gras beads found at your local party or craft store. Use gold beads to really make them festive!

Serve easy to eat bites like these yummy truffle Parmesan mac 'n' cheese muffins for a fun, yet sophisticated soiree. If you're hosting the party at home, serve snacks on a stick like this tasty potato cannoli appetizer on a stick. These bites are perfect for the host who hates to clean up. Just eat and toss!

For the perfect celebratory drink, serve up this tasty pot o gold cocktail. Filled with edible gold flakes, your guests will feel like they are really part of the celebration when they are toasting to your happiness while sipping on a sparkling cocktail!

Go for the gold with the perfect 50th anniversary gift. Gold usually comes in the form of jewelry, so pick a piece from your sweetie's favorite jewelry store and get it engraved. Or, invest in a real solid bar of gold. They may not be able to wear it, but it is certainly a gift fit for a king (or queen!).
