DIY Apple Place Cards for Rosh Hashanah

Apples are a symbolic fruit for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. And in addition to eating them with oney to celebrrate the holiday, incorporate apples into your Rosh Hashanah dinner decor for a fun and festive tablescape.

Dipping apple slices into honey is a symbolic Rosh Hashanah tradition that is celebrated every year. Not only is it a delicious treat for the whole family, but it also is a symbol of praying for a sweet year in the new year.

These apple place cards are the perfect way to set a personalized place setting for Rosh Hashanah. Instead of cheap tissue paper, this craft uses silk flowers, which are sturdier and make for a more beautiful addition to the tablescape. Create a mix of different colors to match the apples of the season.

  • 1 Styrofoam ball
  • 2 Bunches of silk flowers in orange or yellow
  • 1 Thick stick from outdoors, cut to size
  • 6 in of raffia
  • Handwritten or printed name tags
  • Glue stick

Remove the faux flowers from their stems. Place any of the leaves to side.

Push the flowers into the Styrofoam ball, in whatever fashion you'd like, leaving a small opening at the top.

Once the entire ball is covered in flowers, place the stick on top to resemble a pumpkin stem. Wrap the leaves you placed aside earlier around the stick using your raffia.

After that, simply glue a name tag onto a leaf to use as a place card! You can also write guests names directly onto the leaves using a maker.
