10 Most Awkward Moments from the 2014 Grammy Awards

The biggest names in the Music Industry gather every year at the Grammy Awards to perform, smile for the camera, and soak up each other’s awesomeness. And while there’s always plenty of fabulosity to go around – these are gorgeous A-listers, after all – the 2014 Grammys were filled with quite a few awkward moments we couldn’t help but notice.

Throughout the four-hour program, we were pleasantly surprised at the number of talented performances, gorgeous dresses and beautiful couples. But the best parts of the night were the ones that got a little, um, awkward. Remember when Taylor Swift thought she won album of the year? Or when Pharrell rocked not one, but two Smokey the Bear-inspired hats?

Just take a look at some of our favorite Grammy moments, and let us know which one you thought was the most awk of them all.

10. Whatever pose this is:

Madonna said her son David Banda picked out her Grammys outfit, but it looks more like she paid the Quaker Oats guy or Jack Skellington to be her stylist for the night.

9. Pharrell’s Smokey the Bear Hat

Does the ageless rapper also moonlight as a park ranger? Was he repping his favorite fast food restaurant Arby's? We'll never know. And since's he's Pharrell, he can pretty much do whatever he wants.

Pharrell's big, strange hat was replaced by another... wait for it... big, strange hat. He changed up his headpiece before his performance, and we're not sure which hat was better.

7. Steven Tyler showing off those famous dance moves

The Aerosmith frontmant still knows how to get down. We're tempted to walk dance this way the next time we find ourselves at a karaoke night.

6. Taylor Swift rocking out basically all night to every performance

It's a good thing she's made her living singing, songwriting and playing instruments. Because dancing just isn't in her genes (but we love that she owns it and just rocks out to the music, regardless).

5. When Daft Punk kept winning (yay!) but refused to break character and talk

Daft Punk took home some of the biggest awards of the night, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. However, they stayed in robot character, and left their helmets on all night. Pharrell had the honor of speaking for the robots twice, but we're just curious how those messages were communicated: via text? Snapchat? We'll never know.

4. Jamie Foxx hardcore hitting on Beyonce

Let's face it -- Beyonce always looks flawless, all the time for every event. That's just a given. But when Jamie Foxx took the stage to present an award, he spent a weirdly long amount of time going on, and on, and on about how hot she looks. Like, to the point where she looked really uncomfortable.

3. When Katy Perry turned a witch broom into a stripper pole

The California Gurl has gotten pretty creative with props over the last few years (whipped cream cans fastened to bras, etc.) but this witchy performance takes the cake. Katy and her fellow dancers used their witch brooms as stripper poles for a Hocus Pocus-meets-Showgirls showcase.

2. Neon Cacti & Kacey Musgraves' Odd Performance Transition

Kendrick Lamar & Imagine Dragon’s mashup of  “m.A.A.d. city/ Radioactive" was a legendary performance, and brought the entire crowd to its feet. Unfortunately for country newcomer Kacey Musgraves, she had to take the stage immediately afterwards. Even though she’s incredibly talented and her song was cute, hearing her dive right into a slow country ballad with the lyrics, “If you don’t save yourself for marriage, you’re a horrible person” was a little jarring. Better luck next time with the performance lineup, Grammy producers.

1. When Taylor Swift thought she won Album of the Year

To be fair, T-Swift has so many awards, it's easy for her to just assume she won another one when the Album of the Year was announced. Daft Punk's Random Access Memories DOES sound a lot like Red for the first syllable, so we don't blame her for the mess-up. She and her entire entourage got really excited, but recovered just as quickly. It was just a really awkward moment that happened to be captured on camera, and will forever live in GIF form. At least she didn't get out of her chair!

Did you watch the Grammys? Which moment did you think was the most awkard?
