Best Multi-Tasking Party Tools

There are so many details to keep in mind when planning an event – whether it be a small gathering of your closest friends, or a holiday visit from the extended family.

Aside from planning your menu and making sure the floors dazzle and the tables shine, making sure you have the proper serve ware and enough plates and utensils to go around is just as important.

While we don’t all have over stocked kitchens filled with the latest in kitchen and cookware, stocking up on a few multi-use key items will make your life easier, while ensuring a smooth and flawless evening.

Cake Stand

Of course cake stands are great for showing off those tasty desserts, but they don’t have to be strictly for the sweets. Use them during the meal to highlight the main course and juicy meat dishes. It’s a great way to clean up the table, and guests can easily scoop up the dishes because they are elevated and won’t knock over any neighboring dishes.

Cake stands can also double as a nacho or chip tray! Just flip it over the cake stand and you have a perfect circular dish to show off those tasty chips.

Electric Blender

A must-have tool for the bar and kitchen! Use the blender to mix up any boozey drink – from margaritas to pina coladas. If you’re short on ice, run out to your local convenience shop and buy a bag of ice. Throw it in the blender and voila - unlimited amounts of crushed ice for your guests to enjoy.

Electric blenders also make preparing the meal immensely easier. Spend less time mixing and stirring by throwing it in the blender! This will leave more time for any cleaning you have to do. Or, just take the extra time and take a well-deserved bubble bath.

Tongs

You can never have enough tongs. They are great for serving pretty much everything. Throw them in a salad for a mess free solution, or use them to serve hot foods like corn on the cob. If it’s a breakfast buffet, tongs can be used to serve muffins as well as freshly baked bread. Plus, their design and size make it easy for just about everyone to use with minimal mess.

Gravy Boats

Besides serving gravy and sauce in a gravy boat, it’s great for any easy-to-pour solution. During dessert time, fill it with extra milk or cream. They are easy to use and definitely dress your table up more than just putting out the carton. If you are serving to tea drinkers, you can fill it up with some fresh lemon juice.

If you’re running low on serving bowls, you can even use your gravy boat to serve small appetizers such as shrimp cocktail. Fill your gravy boat up with cocktail sauce and hang your little shrimp around the rim. Get creative!

Mason Jars

These versatile jars are great to have around the house. During the summer time, you can use these gems to serve up some ice cold lemonade or iced tea in. Or, try one of these tasty dessert in a jar recipes with your mason jars. The best part is you can prepare and pack these desserts ahead of time – just use the air tight cap to seal the dessert and store it in the fridge. Dress them up easily by tying a small ribbon or embellishment around it.

Besides being used as serve ware, mason jars are perfect for storing leftovers after a big party. Just scoop, seal, and store! The glass is easy to reheat and clean for future use.

Slow Cookers

Slow cookers are definitely making a come back. And it’s no wonder why – cook your dish without having to babysit it and check up on it every 10 minutes. Just throw your food in the slow cooker and come back in a few hours. You can have a meal ready by the time you’re finished cleaning out the guest bedroom.  Plus, your slow cooker can double as serve ware. Just remove the base and serve your meal. No extra cleanup!
