Bridal Spa Treatments

There's no doubt that planning a wedding requires an inordinate amount of time and energy, much of that devoted to all of the little details that will create a magnificent day.

But while you're busy with the logistics, it's important that you also embark on another planning endeavor - this one involving your body, mind and spirit.

All brides want to look their best on their wedding day, but achieving that requires time. You'll need to set up a beauty regime way in advance of the wedding and you'll need to stick to it.

A reputable spa is a fabulous place for you to visit regularly while under the duress of wedding planning. And if you think this is an indulgence, you’re right – it is, but an entirely necessary one.

By scheduling frequent spa treatments, you are not only treating yourself to much needed unwinding and relaxation, but you are also prepping your face and body for the most important day of your life.

Finding a Spa

The first step here is to find a reliable day spa in your area. You can do this by visiting spafinder.com and by asking friends for recommendations.

Once you have a solid list of potential spas, take a close look at each of their websites, so you can get a feel for the types of services they offer.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure the spa is situated conveniently (within close range to your job or home) and that they have experience with brides-to-be. This is important, because ideally you will be scheduling treatments and services tailored precisely to your wedding day needs.

An all-day outdoor wedding, for instance, may require special skin prepping and sunscreen recommendations that work well with makeup and at the same time, provide ample coverage from the elements (you sure don’t want to be beet-red-burned on your pics!).

Some of the services you may want to explore at the day spa include:

A complete series of customized facials which include exfoliation and extractions.

Full body exfoliating, followed by mud or seaweed thermal wraps to detoxify and hydrate your skin.

Relaxing and revitalizing full body massages – hot stone, deep tissue or trigger point massages are perfect for de-stressing.

Reflexology on the feet and hands, to relieve stress and pain in other parts of the body.

Salt inhalation/immersion treatments, said to be beneficial for asthma or allergies.

Your wedding is probably the most significant day of your life, and you are the star attraction the entire time. That means that everyone's eyes will be on you for the entire day. Not only that, but the photographer and videographer will be trailing your every move (just like paparazzi!).

Having said this, bridal beauty, of course, isn't just about how you look from head to toe, but also how you feel. If you feel confident and at ease, it will show. So take care of yourself -- inside and out -- starting right now, and you will glow on your big day!

Don't forget to plan ahead when it comes to wedding day beauty as well!
