Cake Pop Fondue Party Activity

I've been making cake pops for a few years now, but it was only recently that my friends finally showed some interest in baking them and not just eating mine.

Rather than show my friends one at a time how to make a cake pop, I decided to have them all over for a little party with these little desserts taking center stage.

A cake pop fondue party is a great idea for a girls' night in, but it's also a great activity for kids birthday parties, bridal showers or even dinner parties. Setting one up is super easy and no matter how simple you make it, cake pop fondue is a guaranteed hit among party guests.

How to Host a Cake Pop Fondue Party

Step 1: Set Up Your Space

Ideally, you want to find a spot in your home that's more open. Guests will crowd around this area and there's going to be a lot going on, so you want someplace that's accessible.

Once you've got a spot picked out, set up a table and cover it with either a plastic tablecloth, brown paper or other protective cover - this is going to get messy!

Step 2: Lay Out Supplies

Cake pop fondue requires just a few basic supplies - cake balls, dessert sticks or straws, melting chocolate and lots of toppings!

Put out an assortment of toppings - sprinkles, mini marshmallows, graham cracker crumbles and mini candies are all great. Rather than just putting out bowls,  display toppings in some pretty cupcake wrappers. This adds some color to your table and also made it so easy to dip cake pops into toppings.

Cake pop also demands a spot where dunked and decorated cake pops can set up. We used mason jars filled with marshmallows for a prettier look, but you can certainly use the ever reliable Styrofoam blocks!

Melting chocolate is another essential. We used CandiQuik's milk chocolate and white chocolate for our party and put them in some fun dessert bowls so a few people could dunk cake pops at once.

Step 3: Have Cake Balls Made Ahead of Time!

This is cake pop fondue so you need to have your mini cake balls made ahead of your company arriving.

You can use the traditional method, but there are also products on the market now like the Bella Cake Pop Maker we used that make the process super fast.
