How to Make a Creative Champagne Bar for Your Oscars Watch Party

You may not have been invited to attend the Academy Awards this year (don’t worry, we weren’t either) but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the festivities in style, just like your favorite movie stars.

While the winners, nominees and other A-listers munch on caviar and sip on expensive libations, you can recreate the glamorous atmosphere with a champagne bar of your own at your party.

Buy Mini Bottles

Instead of splurging on a few big bottles of expensive champagne, purchase a dozen or so mini bottles and keep them on ice to add to the décor of the bar. It’s also fun for people to pop open the bubbly over and over – like a celebration each time! Plus, people can take home the leftover bottles as party favors.

Don’t Overspend on Expensive Bubbly

Unless your guests are picky and pretentious, they’re not going to notice if you don’t provide top-shelf champagne. If you’re self-conscious about displaying your inexpensive brand, decorate the champagne bottles with glitter, like we did for our Sophisticated New Year’s Eve Party. Or create your own labels on Illustrator or Photoshop to tape over the bottle. It’s a fun way to personalize your libations without breaking the bank!

Must-Have Mixers

While most people love champagne on its own, others like to incorporate it into a fun, fizzy cocktail. Provide some juices and mixers, such as orange juice, club soda and fresh fruit puree. To serve a delicious fruity and fizzy drink, check out our recipe for a Pear Fizz Cocktail.

Display Decorative Straws

Striped straws are still holding on strong as a must-have for party décor, and will really come in handy when sipping on your champagne cocktail. Display them in a metallic votive or mason jar, and pick colors that coordinate with your party’s theme.

Add Some Flair to Your Flutes

Champagne flutes are pretty enough on their own, but there’s no such thing as too much glam. Add a decorative stick with a gold or glittery bauble to really make your cocktail stand out.

Most importantly – sip on some champs and enjoy the show!
