Decorating Ideas for a Beach Bridal Shower

A beautiful beach backdrop is instantly taken to a whole new level with these serene and elegent decorating ideas.

There is something utterly romantic about the beach that calls to people. The rolling waves that crash to the sand for eternity and the breezes that blow across the water always hint of adventure, creating a special ambiance found nowhere else.

This is probably why so many brides are attracted to the beach as a wedding location! But the beach is also a fantastic setting for a bridal shower, and when decorating, it allows for a little less formality - and a bit more whimsy - than a wedding.

Painted furniture always adds an element of fun to any event, and here I found an old vanity and refinished the piece in ocean blue to use for our dessert bar. (A beachy sand castle cake and pretty paper parasol anchored the table and added visual height.)

Lots of "pearls" in the form of gumballs, sixlets, open pearl-bearing oysters, and coconut covered bon-bons were scattered about the table.

Tikkido.com provided the lovely sandcastle sugar lollipops.

Styling tip: To add to the presentation of the items sitting in the dessert serving trays, brown sugar can be used to look like sand.

On the table itself, I created a tablescape that gave nods to the ocean and sand with very simple, easy-to-find pieces. A burlap runner was placed over blue material as the foundation for the beach tablescape.

Each place setting had a white plate layered with a blue plate, a white napkin and a single starfish.

Blue mason jars with striped straws added a pop of color to create a nice contrast to the neutrals already on the table.

Shells and sand finished out the decoration-adorned table, with raffia tie-backs and sand dollars on the chairs.

All the materials for the table were found at the local craft store or superstore, so all the items you see here are easily obtainable. Replicating this set up for your own beach bridal shower is easy!
