DIY Camera Photo Centerpiece Tutorial

For an anniversary or birthday party, decorate with a photo montage at the table by making your own photo centerpieces!

Cameras make for great inspiration if you're looking to plan a party with a theme that revolves around nostalgia, history or a life journey. Graduations, milestone birthdays and anniversaries are all perfect occasions to plan a party where camera motifs inspire the ideas.

For a recent anniversary party, we sent out invitations highlighting the couple's wedding photo and a recent snapshot taken 60 years later. To highlight the incredible journey between those two shots we wanted to incorporate photos of the guests of honor at every table.

Instead of simply pasting images onto collage boards, we brought the elegance of our invitatios, as well as the photos, to every table with a simple centerpiece craft.

Using antique bottles, paper dye cuts and cherished family photos, these centerpieces will spark family memories and capture the spirit of the celebration with little time and skill.

The paper camera frame is adorned with wedding vow quotes in soft shades to continue our color theme and bring the anniversary celebration to the heart of the table. I used old family photos and decorative tape to complete the look, letting the antique apothecary bottles be the element that keeps the historical theme running throughout.

You can always create a more clustered centerpiece with additional photos and larger vases.

  • 6-10 antique apothecary bottles
  • 6-10 family photographs
  • 6-10 dye cut paper cameras
  • 6-10 pipe cleaners
  • Decorative tape
  • Glue

Step 1: Wash and dry the apothecary bottles.

Step 2: Next, wrap decorative tape around the pipe cleaners to give them a finished and cohesive look.

Step 3: Tape the photos to the pipe cleaners and then glue them on the camera frame so that each face is captured in the lens finder.

Step 4: Place the pipe cleaner in the bottle and set on the table for the finished look.
