DIY Circle Garland Decoration

Circle garland is one of the cutest, quickest ways to add character to a table backdrop. Apart from being incredibly quick and easy to make, circle garlands offer a clean way to introduce your party's color scheme into your space.

If you’re pressed for time or don’t wish to create a fabric backdrop then this DIY decor idea is for you.

12 x 12 sheets of cardstock (number needed depends on how many strands you need to make)
circle/scallop/shape punch in any size (I used a mixture of various sizes) OR a Circut/Silhouette Cutter
Fishing Wire or White Thread
Invisible Tape
Clear Thumb Tacks or Removable Adhesive Hooks

I like to use one color per strand of garland but it is strictly a personal preference. You can alternate colors on each strand for more of a confetti effect.

Step 1: For your circles or shapes, punch different sizes from your punchers until you have enough circles for your garland.

Step 2: Next, measure the amount of fishing wire or thread you’ll need with a measuring table and cut the number of strands you’ll need (can even be different lengths).

Step 3: Attach your circles to your garland taping a small, thin piece of invisible tape on the back. Leave a few inches in between each circle so it appears as if they’re floating when hung.

Step 4: Once all of your circles are attached to their respective strand (depending on where you’re hanging them) either tie a thumb tack to one end of each strand to push into the ceiling OR tie a small circle to the top of them to hang on the removable adhesive hooks.

When hanging your garland, you can either line them up in a row, or stagger them. There are many ways these can look great… it is all up to you and your preference!
