DIY Decorating Ideas for a Kids Spring Party

Our garden party is inspired by the bright colors of flowers, butterflies, and birds that are found in the garden.

The idea is to amplify these garden elements, but keep them whimsical so they appeal to young children.

Plates and napkins in complementary colors, as well as whimsical birdhouses, help to make up the table setting, while a moss runner brings in a natural element. All of these supplies can be found at your local craft store. The birdhouses could change in color and style each season, so you may want to plan ahead or paint them to get the look you need.

Gather empty glass jars in various sizes and colors and fill them with fun flowers - you can purchase a bouquet and break it up or gather flowers you have on your property! You can even scatter birdhouses around the area or group multiple birdhouses together to create a unique focal point kids will love exploring and poking around at. Who knows, you may even inspire them to convince mom and dad to hang some friendly bird houses and feeders around their yard!

DIY name cardholders are made from mini fences, and easy to create with just a few materials. Kids love seeing their names presented in fun ways, and you can bet they will want to take these home and show it off in their bedrooms. Talk about the perfect 2-in-1 decoration party favor idea! We topped this name cardholder off with a cutesy flower, but for a boys name you may want to consider using other Spring icons like birds or props from Spring-time sports.

Never underestimate the power of a banner to really bring the whole shindig together. This DIY banner idea is not only vibrant and colorful, but waterproof, too! That’s right, whether you are suffering from April Showers or just a messy bunch, your banner will withstand anything you spill on it. To really bring the Spring theme together, embellish your banner with stickers celebrating some of the most colorful and cute parts of Spring – think baby chicks, bold flowers, and season appropriate insects like ladybugs and butterflies!
