DIY Valentine's Day Gold Heart Plate

Jazzing up a set of plain, inexpensive plates could not be easier. With some oil-based permanent markers and a little bit of crafty magic, you'll have a cute and impressive serving platter that cost almost nothing!

Turn an inexpensive, plain plate into something worthy of your favorite Valentine's Day treats. To create a festive Valentine's Day look, I started with a red dinner plate as the base. The gold permanent marker showed up really well against the bold background, and created a fun contrast to display my favorite snacks and desserts.

Supplies
  • Red plate
  • Gold paint pen
Directions

We picked up this simple red plate at our local dollar store. We jazzed it up with alternating gold hearts and some “love” script on one side. It was the perfect plate to serve our Fannie May chocolate-covered strawberries on!

These chocolate covered strawberries are decadant and fresh. Real Love Deserves Real Chocolate! Fannie May® strawberries are dipped in delicious 100% Real Milk, Dark & White Chocolate.
