DIY Personalized Cowgirl Party Invitations

Sometimes, when you're planning a party, it's not always the easiest task in the world to find that perfect invitation to capture the look, feel and promised fun of the party. And as we at Celebrations always say, great parties begin with great invitations.

If you can't find a the perfect printed invitation for your soiree, consider making your own.

I’m co-planning a cowgirl themed birthday party and I recently teamed up with The Perfect Card to create a few free printables, so you can host a cowgirl shindig of your own. You need basic Photoshop skills to complete the printable invitation, but the rest you can just print off and go. The printable invitations have a spot for your cowgirl’s photo and you don’t have to be a professional photographer to take invitation-worthy photos. Gather a few fun props and try not to shoot in direct sunlight for the best results.

  • Printable Cowgirl Invitation
  • Cowgirl Photo
  • Burlap
  • Scissors
  • Permanent Spray Adhesive
  • Invitation Boxes
  • Burlap Flowers

Step 1: Head to your nearest ranch, farm or barnyard location and snap a few photos of the birthday girls. Think ruffled petticoats, jean jackets, burlap flowers and cowboy boats for the attire. Crates, hay bales and balloons make for great photo props. Make sure to take vertical photos for the printable invitation.

Step 2: Download the printable cowgirl invitation and open it in Photoshop. Insert your cowgirl photo and birthday party information in the spaces provided. Then, print invitations out.

Step 3: Cut burlap rectangles out slightly larger than the invitations. Mount the invitations to the burlap using permanent spray adhesive.

Step 4: If you plan on hand delivering, you could place the invitations in small invitation boxes and attach a burlap flower to the top.

Step 5: Print out the rest of the cowgirl party printables including the drink flags, cupcake circles, and cowgirl coloring sheet and start planning your cowgirl birthday party!
