DIY St. Nicholas Booties

Making your own felt booties to celebrate St. Nicholas day has never been easier, especially since most craft stores now carry a baby bootie dye cut that takes all the guesswork out of making your own.

The tiny booties are perfect for stuffing with a handful of gold coins and a small toy for a treat that will capture the sprit of this holiday with little to no crafting skill. The beauty of the dye cut is that you can change the look of your bootie to fit your personal taste, using stiffened fabric or paper if felt is not a preference.

For these booties, I used a mix of green and red felt adorned with a light gold ribbon. Not only easy, a single bootie cost me less than $5 to create.

Supplies
  • 1 Sheet of red felt, dye cut
  • 1 Sheet of green felt, dye cut
  • Hot glue gun
  • Gold ribbon
  • Scissors
Directions

Step 1: Use your hot glue gun to glue the top piece to the bottom piece, one tab at a time. If your dye cut does not have tabs, apply the glue to the outer rim of the bottom piece and secure it place.

Step 2: One the glue cools, and the boot is intact, tie a bow with the ribbon and glue it to the top of the shoe.
