Whether you're lucky enough to find them aplenty in your own backyard, or have to travel a short ways to the local craft store for a few faux ones, pine cones make for an easy and elegant adornment to your holiday table when you craft them into place card holders.

Check out the below tutorial for making pine cone topiary place cards for an inexpensive and simple way to add seasonal flair to your holiday table.

Supplies:

small terra cotta pots

Webbing gold spray paint

pine cones

small birds from floral department

monogram stickers

florist foam

moss

gold organza ribbon

Directions:

Step 1: Spray the terra cotta pot--inside and out with gold spray paint. A webbing spray paint will give the pot an interesting texture. Let dry.

Step 2: Cut florist foam to fit the inside of the pot and push down inside.  Place moss over the top of the foam. Tie ribbon around the top of the pot.

Step 3: Place the pine cone on the foam. You can attach it to the foam with a florist pick to keep it secure. Attach the decorative bird.

Step 4: Add the first initial of each of your guests to the front of the pot with a monogram sticker.
