Simple Stocking Stuffer: Easy DIY Christmas Earrings

‘Tis the season to be thrifty – at least, in my book. I love going all-out for Christmas and getting decked out for Ugly Sweater Parties, but spending my hard-earned money on holiday baubles that I’ll only wear once or twice a year doesn’t seem worthwhile.

So when I stumbled upon these adorable peppermint and gingerbread men scrapbook embellishments at Michael’s, I couldn’t resist turning them into something I could show off. Insert these super adorable (and super easy) DIY Christmas earrings.

I already had flat post earrings (from Michael’s naturally), when I made my DIY Initial Earrings, so with a little help from some super glue, I had several pairs of Christmas earrings just in time for the holiday party season. Make a bunch and give to your friends and family just because, or throw in their stockings as simple DIY stuffers. You can even set them out at your holiday party for guests arriving who aren’t donning quite enough Christmas flair.

"Not the gumdrop buttons!"

  • Scrapbook embellishments of your choice
  • Earring backs
  • Flat post earrings
  • Super glue

Step 1: Peel embellishments off of the plastic sheet. When you tear them off, you’ll notice a round adhesive sticker on the back. Peel that off as best as possible.

Step 2: Apply super glue to the back of the embellishment, and glue the flat post earring on the back. Wait to dry, about 20-30 minutes. (You don’t want these super glued to your earlobes.)

Step 3: Rock your new earrings! Secure on the back with earring backs.
