Easy Eco Summer Tablescape Ideas

With summer here, it's natural you'll want to incorporate pops of colors, fun patterns and earthy elements into your tablescape. A great way to keep budget low and stay eco-friendly is to reuse and repurpose what you already have in your home.

You can still create a chic looking table without having to purchase a lot. We put together this table for summer for under $50 with the help of our expert, Shawn Rabideau.

Tip 1: Don't be afraid to incorporate bright colors and flowers. Jump on the color block trend and go bold!

We used a bright burnt red fabric we purchased for $7 a yard on Fabric.com to make this tablecloth. To add more color, we chose to go with a robbin's egg blue salad plate and blue mason jars. The pops of yellow bring an extra brightness to the table as well.

Tip 2: Try filling drinking glasses with flowers for a unique twist on your table centerpeice. It's eye catching, eclectic and inexpensive! The small glasses on the table are filled halfway with water and topped with a large white carnation.

Tip 3: Instead of plain cardstock, use plantable paper for summer place cards. They make a great DIY addition to the table, are eco-friendly and make a special parting gift for your guests to take home and plant in their garden. We chose to cut our plantable paper into little birds to go with our summer theme.

Tip 4: Remember to repurpose and reuse. Mason jars like ours can be filled with candles or flowers to accent your tablescape, while everday tools like twine work wonders as DIY napkin rings. Simply wrap a plain white napkin in twine and glue a dried flower on top for a easy summery look. From the wooden lanterns to the place setting and water glasses, all of these were reused for this summer table.

The only items we actually had to purchase on the table were the fabric and plantable paper. Flowers can easily come from your own garden, making this table very eco-chic, while still being budget friendly!
