Last-Minute Conspiracy Theorist Costume

Dress up as this last minute Halloween costume idea: a conspiracy theorist! With the end of 2013 just around the corner, conspiracy theorists far and wide will love this idea! Just don't tell Big Brother.

Pair it with a “The End is Near” sandwich board or survivalist gear and you've got a costume in no time.

  • Tin Foil
  • Scotch Tape
  • Scissors

Step 1:  Cut two pieces of tinfoil, approximately 14 inches long. You can adjust the length to your liking, depending on your head size or the look you have in mind. Place both pieces shiny side down lined up against the long side, overlapping by about ½ inch. Tape along this line.

Step 2: Fold your large tinfoil piece lengthwise along this tape line, so that it is hidden on the inside. You’ll want the shiny side out to deflect government brain scans, of course. Fold each of the upper corners along the fold down towards the front so that they meet in the middle, or with a small gap. Fold the excess front flap at the bottom up once so that it meets the bottom of the just folded sides, then again so that it comes above. Do the same for the back flap towards the rear.

Step 3: Stand your hat up and open up the inside by bringing the two bottom corners together, making a square, and folding the hat along the creases. Try it on and shape it to your head, twisting up the corners if desired. You can add a quick microphone or magic wand by wrapping an empty tin foil or paper towel tube in foil, and taping a wadded up ball of foil at the top.
