Easy Potluck Party Idea: DIY Utensil Bags

These utensil bags will add a pop of color to your table and are also great for BBQs or summer parties.

If you're hosting a potluck party, it's best to have guests contribute to the menu rather than have them bring supplies. For one thing, as host, you've got a firm grasp on the number of people you can expect. For another, you can use what you already have on hand to minimize waste and reduce costs.

For our potluck party we decided to use our utensils for functionality, but also as a decor element.

Supplies
  • 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 inch glassine bags
  • napkins
  • utensils
Directions

It's simple! Slip a napkin and utensils in a glassine bag for each guest. We added a sticker that coordinated with our invitation to bring the party theme to our table.

When making these bags for your own party, consider decorating with stickers, monograms, or stamps to bring your theme to your decor.

What's great about these bags is that we placed all of the utensil bags in a wire basket, allowing everyone to pick up all that they needed in one gesture which kept our potluck efficient and fun.
