Five Year Anniversary

You've made it past the honeymoon stage, gotten to know each other's best and worst habits, and here you are five years later.

This is commonly the time in the relationship when you're doing a lot of spending and saving. Whether it's that new home you just purchased or the little bundle of joy you are preparing for, many couples find the 5 year mark to be a time full of new conquests and the unavoidable stress that follows.

What better way to take a break from the hectic responsibilities that keep piling up than by planning a sensual, low key evening full of romance and relaxation.

The 5 year anniversary gift is traditionally "wood", and as you may noticed, we at Celebrations love being festive from the food to the decor!

To incorporate wood in to your decor, create a wooden serving tray with personalized messages for your sweetie like favorite memories, or little anecdotes about your relationship. We've created this adorable DIY serving tray using chalkboard paint that you can even make matching coasters for.

Start off with a rich and tasty appetizer like this simple bruschetta. It's an elegant dish that is not only easy to make, but also irresistibly delicious! The fact that bruschetta is pretty much a menu staple at many restaurants is not a coincidence.

Drinks and Dessert

Chocolate covered strawberries are pretty much the go-to dessert for any romantic meal. It's the perfect sweet treat to indulge in that won't leave you feeling bloated. Plus, you and your sweetie can feed each other as you lovingly gaze into each other's eyes. The ingredients are simple and the result delicious. You just can't go wrong!

Since Champagne is the go-to celebratory drink, you just have to finish the evening off with a glass of bubbly. If you're feeling a little more adventurous, create a champagne cocktail instead of just pouring a plain ole glass.

The traditional gift is wood, which is symbolic of peace and earth.. perfect for the 5 year milestone! The most popular wood gift choices would be a wooden jewelry or watch box.

If you're feeling crafty, create your own wooden treasure box using modge podge and pictures and images important to your loved one.
