Graduation Party Idea: 'Keys' to Success

After all of the years of hard work and studying, graduation is a time to celebrate all of the accomplishments of the graduate. And as he or she prepares to take on the real world, it's a good idea to share some words of wisdom!

This Keys to Success station from our friends at Party Bluprints lets guests write down some pieces of advice or inspirational messages that the graduate can read later. At the graduation party, simply set these note tags out near a large jar with some pens, and have friends and family members jot down their messages.

Not only is this station a great way to spread some love at the graduation party, but it will also make for a keepsake he or she can have forever. With just some gift tags, decorative keys and a pen, you'll have a fun and creative party activity for all of your guests!

Tips: When buying your gift tags, pick ones that are big enough to hold a message, but not too big that they won't fit into your jar.

For a smaller party, purchase enough decorative keys to allow for one for each guest – don’t forget to include yourself. If you are throwing a large party, you may want to consider allowing one per family/couple.

  • Jar
  • Decorative keys
  • Chalkboard/black stock tags
  • Gold pen(s)
  • Inspirational quotes/signs

Step 1: Print out "Keys to Success" labels to glue on the back of your tags, or draw them on with a chalkboard pen (if using black tags).

Step 2. Tie a key onto each tag.

Step 3: Display tagged keys along with a pen or pens, a jar (we love using wide-mouth mason jars or a larger canister), and inspirational signs or quotes. Invite guests to stop by to pen a "key" to success to the graduate!
