Gymnastics Themed Trampoline Cake

Believe it or not, making your own themed gymnastics cake is pretty easy! The trick is to combine store-brought items with a little DIY creativity.

The dessert table we made for our gymnastics theme party was a big hit – and everyone enjoyed this simple chocolate cake that we spruced up using the gym for our inspiration. This kids birthday party idea lets you have fun with the birthday cake and everyone will want a second slice!

  • 8” round store brought cake (go for chocolate to mimic the dark color of a trampoline)
  • Store bought frosting (dyed a bright red, blue or yellow)
  • Coordinating candies for embellishment
  • Fun tumbler figurines or custom made ones from your local bakery
  • Cake banner – make it or buy it!

Take an 8” round chocolate (store bought) cake and transform it into a trampoline.

Using the chocolate layered cake as your base, create “padding” with a rim of colored icing and decorate edges with colorful coordinating candies.

Add a cake banner decoration and fun ‘jumpers’ to finish your cake off.

You can purchase non-edible jumpers, or ask your local bakery to craft a few edible ones that look like your birthday boy or girl.
