Halloween Cookie Decorating Party for Kids

A cookie decorating party is a fun and creative way to get kids crafting this fall. You can easily host a few children at your home by following a few of our ideas to make this party budget-friendly and stress free.

We recently came across a great all-in-one cookie decorating kit from Cheryl's that can help you put together a cute little get together with ease.

Each kit contains 24 of Cheryl's cookies in pumpkin and ghost shapes, a container of vanilla frosting, a container of chocolate frosting and a pack of Halloween themed sprinkles. We ordered an extra container of vanilla frosting so that we could color it orange with food coloring so the kids could decorate their pumpkins.

Frosting and sprinkles, check!

You can see above the two different kinds of frosting that came in the original kit, plus the extra container of vanilla that we dyed. We placed the sprinkles in cute little bowls for the kids to easily grab and decorate their cookies with. One-stop shop for sure!

Wooden Utensils

We love the use of wooden utensils for this since it's for kids. We wrapped each knife in festive ribbon for some added flair and to make them easier for the kids to grip. We also labeled the wooden spoons for the frosting according to flavor and color. It's a great way to get young children to associate the spelling and written words with the actual item.

The Perfect Pair: Cookies & Milk

We have a ton of mini mason jars on hand, so rather than use the same old glasses, we filled them with milk that we colored orange to add to the Halloween theme of the party. If you have party straws handy, just cut them in half so that they fit in your mini jar.

Spooky Cookies on the Go

The cookies in the kit are Cheryl's special sugar cookie recipe and are already pre-cut and baked for you. No work or mess involved! How great is that?! Each child can go crazy and decorate their own Halloween cookie.
