10 Hilarious Halloween Costumes for 2013

Halloween is that time of the year when people use the excuse to dress provocative as anything from a sexy police officer to a sexy hamburger (yes, that’s a thing, no, I don’t know how hamburgers can be deemed anything in the vicinity of sexual).

Halloween is that time of the year when people use the excuse to dress provocative as anything from a sexy police officer to a sexy hamburger (yes, that’s a thing, no, I don’t know how hamburgers can be deemed anything in the vicinity of sexual).

But if you’re not one to jump on the sexy costume train, there are plenty of pop culture getups that are perfect to embrace in 2013. Dress up as your favorite TV character, musician or even Grumpy Cat. Most of the pop culture icons from this year are not only hilarious in costume form, but pretty simple to assemble.

Take a look at our 10 favorite costume ideas for 2013, and get inspired to have one of the most clever and creative costumes yet.

Miley Cyrus & Robin Thicke's VMAs Performance

If you're really hankering for a "sexy" costume, dress up as Miley Cyrus a la her "We Can't Stop" performance during the MTV Video Music Awards this year. If you have a friend, have him or her dress up as Robin Thicke in a Beetljuice-esque suit. Twerking not encouraged, but allowed.

Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball Music Video

Miley Cyrus can't stop (pun!) getting negative press lately, so her wrecking ball video is another way pay homage to and/or poke fun at the former Disney starlet. But wear clothes, please.

The New Royal Family

Kate Middleton and Prince William had a baby this year, who just so happens to be the next heir to the throne. If you and your man friend can manage to look flawless while carrying a screaming baby around, more power to you. Note: Don't carry around an actual human baby.

Baby North West

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West also had child, who is the heir to nothing more than a ton of media attention and an infancy filled with leather onesies and gold binkies. The baby girl's name also happens to be North West, so there are plenty of options to dress as Kimye and baby, or as a compass pointing North West.

Breaking Bad

Luckily, the hazmat suits in honor of "Breaking Bad" are actually available for purchase on purecostumes.com. Bonus points if you carry around rock candy or shots in test tubes.

Liberace and Scott Thorson from 'Behind the Candelabra'

The flamboyant duo fictionalized on the hit HBO movie Behind the Candelabra, played by Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, would be so fun to portray in costume form. All you need are fabulous suits and some rockin' wigs. And a candelabra to carry in front of your face, because that's awesome.

Duck Dynasty Cast

The cast of the hit A&E show "Duck Dynasty" have stolen our hearts, and you can steal their look with some raggedy old clothes you probably already have, some bandanas, and of course, long hair and beards. Don't forget your duck call whistle.

Lady GaGa's 'Applause' Cover

Lady GaGa debuted her single this year titled "Applause," and the artwork features her face covered in different colores of paint. Pretty easy to recreate. Plus, you can go around clapping all night for no apparent reason.

Grumpy Cat

Grumpy Cat is never impressed. Just try not to laugh at all during your Halloween party.

Fit Hampters from the Kia Ad

The loveable hamters from the Kia Soul ads, who once loved busting a move to LMFAO, have now upgraded their look to fit and sexy hamter men after months of working out. The commercial had us cracking up, so stealing their suave style for Halloween would be a blast
