Handmade Mother's Day Cards for Kids: Pinky Wreath

Kids will have a great time using their pinky finger as a stamp pad to create this adorable Mother's Day card.

The result is a sweet little wreath tied up with a pretty pink bow.

1 sheet 4 1/2 inch square of  white cardstock
1 sheet 4 3/4 inch square of black cardstock for border
1 sheet 5 1/2 by 11 inch pink cardstock
1 sheet 4 3/4 inch square of white cardstock for the inside of the card
Acrylic craft paint:  green, white, pink

Step 1. With a pencil, lightly trace the  bottom of a cup or other 3-inch diameter circle onto the 4 1/2 inch white cardstock.

Step 2. Dispense a small amount of the green, white and pink paint onto a paper plate.

Step 3. Have the child dip their finger into the green paint and make "pinky prints" all the way around the circle. This will create the leaves for the wreath. Let dry.

Step 4. When the green paint is dry, have the child dip their finger in the pink paint and make 3 prints together to form each flower on the wreath. Let dry.

Step 5. The child will dip their pinky in the white paint to add a center to each one of the pink flowers. Let dry.

Step 6. Have the child sign their name beneath the wreath.

Step 7. Fold the pink cardstock in half to form the 5 1/2 inch square card. Open the card and glue the 4 3/4 inch white square to the inside of the card for the child's handwritten message to their mom.

Step 8. Assemble the front of the card by gluing the finished wreath print to the black cardstock. Then, glue these layers onto the front of the card.

Step 9. With a glue-dot, add a pretty pink bow to the top of the wreath.
