Homemade Chocolate Owl Pops

These adorable owl chocolate lollipops are a great addition to your baby shower's dessert table. I made mine in an owl shape using orange tinted chocolates to match the baby shower's theme I designed, but with the different colors readily available the possibilities are endless.

These can also be wrapped in cellophane, tied off with pretty ribbon and used as baby shower party favors.

Supplies
  • Owl chocolate/candy mold {or mold to match your party theme}
  • Lollipop sticks - 6 inches long
  • Colored chocolate pellets
Directions

To begin, I cut the ends off the candy molds where the stick lays so I could use a longer stick.

Next step - melt your chocolate using a double boiler until it's smooth and creamy.

Place a dollop of melted chocolate into the mold where the stick will be inserted. This will ensure the stick is fully covered and secure when it is set.

Place the lollipop stick in so it's about half way into the mold.

Fill the rest of the mold with the chocolate evenly, being careful not to over fill, and making sure the stick is covered.

Carefully tap mold so any air bubbles are released.

Place the mold form on a sheet pan and place in the refrigerator or freezer to set up.

To display the lollipops, fill a wide vase or other vessel with craft foam blocks and insert the lollipop stick into the foam. Cover the foam with small candies or shredded paper filler to match your party's color scheme.
