Homemade Crayons Craft Idea

From what we remember, as kids we always tended to grip our crayons just a bit too tight. This, of course, resulted in a lot of broken crayon bits being cast aside as useless since they were so small.

If your kiddies have inherited this same show of force when it comes to poor colorful crayons, give this fun and easy DIY project a try. It's simple and safe enough for them to help you, too.

What's even better is this craft idea also makes for an easy and inexpensive party at your kids' birthday parties - just wrap them up in cellophane and tie a ribbon to them!

Supplies
  • Old, broken crayons, wrappers removed
  • Silicone baking mold--in desired shape
Directions

Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.

Break up your crayons into small, 1/2 inch pieces. Place lots of different colors to fill each mold.

Place the silicone pan in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until the crayons are melted.

Cool completely, and then pop the crayons out of the mold.

Wrap crayons in cellophane and tie with a ribbon if using as a birthday party favor!
