Homemade Valentine's Day T-Shirt

With their pink loving nature, Valentine’s Day celebrations, treats and crafts all appeal to girls with minimal effort. Usually, the same can’t be said for little boys and Valentine’s Day, but we’ve got a homemade Valentine’s Day craft we bet will change all that.

This year, get any kiddo excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with this DIY heart-breaker shirt that’s incredibly easy to craft – so long as you have the right supplies! They’ll appreciate the play on words as well as the edgier design, all while having some fun celebrating Valentine’s Day.

You can use this tutorial with any design you’d like, too. So get crafty no matter the occasion!


Black T-Shirt

Red Felt

White Iron-On Letters

Heat n Bond Ultra Hold Iron-On Adhesive (no sew)




Step 1: Iron the Heat n Bond onto a piece of red felt. Cut out a heart, broken in 2 pieces out of the red felt (see photo).

Step 2: Remove the Heat n Bond backing off of the 2 heart pieces and iron on the shirt according to the Heat n Bond directions.

Step 3: Iron on your white letters, spelling out the word “breaker” just underneath the heart. 

Step 4: Dress up your heart-breaker for Valentine’s Day with this T-shirt and send them off to school with some edible marshmallow treats to give friends and really get in the holiday spirit!
