How to Get Your Kids & Teens Involved in Easter Decorating Projects

Easter is a time to gather with family, spend some quality time together and maybe create some fun recipes and DIY projects together.

But even if you want to get your children involved in some of the fun bonding activities, they may not be exactly thrilled about it. Luckily, I've gathered some tips to get your kids of all ages excited to participate in the fun, family-friendly DIY and homemade decor projects for spring and Easter.

Before you know it, you will be making warm memories that will stay with you all for a lifetime.

5 ways to get your kids and teens involved in Easter decorating projects:

1.  Tasking older children and teens with creating their own dye color is a great way to get them excited about dipping eggs – it is a mix between science and art that will get them engaged and excited at the same time.

2.  Keep projects quick, and relatively parent free when enlisting toddlers and younger children. Tasking them with painting plastic bunnies like the ones on my coconut cluster jars is a task that builds confidence and has an instant impact.

3.  Look for more complex projects for older children and teens, they will want to think, be challenged and get as creative as possible.  More complex projects like hollowing out and drying eggs to make candles and place card holders is one that requires no supervision but has great impact on your Easter décor.

4.  Molding clay is not only inexpensive but offers endless crafting opportunities, from creating egg cups to sculpting bunnies, it a craft that the whole family can enjoy together.

5.  Asking teens to dress the table and design the décor theme for the family table not only gets their creative juices flowing, it gives them a responsibly of the celebration that they will take great pride in. Asking the to enlist the younger generation to help set the table makes it a family activity that brings all the elements of Easter decorating together.
