How to Make a Pom Pom Garland Decoration

Add some pizzazz to your next party with this easy to make pom pom garland tutorial. A little bit of hemp string, a few pom poms and you have yourself a cheap and cute DIY party decoration that can be used over and over.

I opted for red pom poms, just in time for Valentine’s Day, but you can use any color combo that suits your party décor. Hang above your front door or make multiple garland strings and use to decorate your dessert table backdrop.

Hemp String

Tapestry Needle (with a large eye)

2 inch Pom Poms

Step 1: Thread the hemp string through the large-eyed tapestry needle and tie a knot at the end.

Step 2: Spear the middle of a pom pom with the threaded tapestry needle. You may have to wiggle it around some to get it to go through the pom pom.

Step 3: Continue threading pom poms until you have your desired amount of pom poms and length per strand that you are making.

Step 4: Hang above your door with tacks or tape, or use as a party backdrop on tables.
