Inspirational Glass Stone Decorations

Vinyl lettering is a popular trend that makes an appearance in various crafting projects. From mounted frames, to wall art, the big text impact is simple and captures the creative energy among crafters.

I love the look of engraved natural conversation stones and wanted to create something that fit with my home décor as well as my lifestyle, and making these glass stones was a great way to blend the trend of vinyl lettering with the conversation stones that I adore.

These happy little decorative stones are meant to inspire and remind you to live life happily and as fully as possible. Display them everyday in a place you'll pass often - this way you'll smile all that more!

  • 1 bag of glass oval stones
  • 1 bottle of Glossy Accents
  • 1 small paint brush
  • 1 sheet of decorative crafting paper
  • A collection of vinyl words

Step 1: Trace the paper around the glass stones and cut out the oval shape so that it fits snugly against the outline of the stone. (I used oval stones, you can use any shape to create the same look.)

Step 2: Transfer your vinyl word to the paper that you want to appear face up on the stone. And repeat this process for each individual stone cut out. (Make sure your lettering is the right size to work with whatever shape you choose.)

Step 3: Place a small amount of Glassy Accents to the bottom of the stone and use a small brush to create a thin layer of accent across the stone surface.

Step 4:  While it is still wet, secure the bottom of the stone to the paper cut out so that the glossy accents stick to the top of the vinyl lettering. Then allow the project to dry for 1-2 hours before displaying.

(If the sides of the paper appear around the edges of the stone, you can use a light sand paper to brush away the edges for a polished clean look).
