Lovely Luau Party Decor: Tablescapes, Dessert Displays & More

Sipping on tropical drinks, throwing on a grass skirt and dancing the hula; luaus are the quintessential summer party, celebrating everything we love about Hawaiian culture.

And as much as we love donning a colorful floral lei and drinking something delicious out of a coconut, the decorations for luaus really set the scene. Creative tablescapes, serving trays and dessert displays will really make a fantastic impression on your party guests at your summer luau bash.

Whether you're looking to throw an all-out, over-the-top luau party, or are looking for decor that's a little more sophisticated, we have some fabulous party decor for your luau. Check out some of our favorites below, and don't forget the grass skirts!

Bamboo & Faux Dried Grass

Lots of dried grass and bamboo makes this table from Uncommon Designs feel really authentic and Hawaiian. Luckily, finding faux dried grass and bamboo isn't expensive at all; the table fringe is actually made from several grass skirts attached together! These homemade Hawaiian decorations also include colorful flowers for a fun and pretty display.

Vintage Luau

Give your luau party a retro feel, like this decor from We Heart Parties. The pastel colors and '60s-era cocktails give this summery party a vintage nod, without being too over-the-top. The "Aloha" letters really set the whole scene, too!

Beachside Tablescape

If you're lucky enough to live near a beach, then an oceanside dinner is the perfect way to celebrate a luau. This dinner party from Catch My Party shows a gorgeous beach party, complete with a themed tablescape.

Backyard Dinner Party

With grilled steaks, pineapple and lots of bacon, Hawaiian-themed parties lend themselves nicely to delicious dinner parties. This backyard bash from From Hostess with the Mostess displayed fun, fruity cocktails as a Tiki Bar, and incorporated gorgeous flowers into the decor. Not all luaus have to be cheesy!

Casual Backyard Buffet

This Luau party tablescape from Prettify Your Life was described as a kid buffet, all set up for a kid's luau party. She mixed some store-bought dessert with homemade beach-themed candy treats, and included some fun tiki and Hawaiian decorations. How cute!

Blue & Orange Tiki Display

This tiki display from Catch My Party used the bold colors of orange and blue to create their fun and festive dessert table. They featured colorful and beach-themed candy in clear glass containers, and embellished with tiki cups, paper umbrellas and more.
