Make This DIY Pumpkin Body Scrub

With fall just around the corner, I’m obsessed with all things pumpkin related. Not only are they seasonal, but pumpkins are also packed with vitamins A and C, and antioxidants. This DIY Pumpkin Body Scrub takes just a few minutes to whip up, and smells like a delicious pumpkin treat when you're in the shower. Make big batches and store in glass jars to give as spa party favors, shower gifts, or just use at home to get your skin looking and feeling its best.

To get ready for a big event, or to treat yourself to an at-home spa beauty routine, make sure to exfoliate using a gentle body scrub that will polish your skin without irritating it. Exfoliating your body at least once a week is a must for removing dead skin cells, and an easy way to keep your skin looking all-over radiant. It’s also important to exfoliate before a spray tan or applying self tanner so that the color goes on evenly, and lasts as long as possible.

Although I love the yummy smelling store-bought body scrubs, it’s so easy to make your own at home. It only takes a few minutes, and with all-natural ingredients of your choice, you can customize your scrub to fit your skin needs.

Adjust the amount of sugar to make the scrub more or less granular. Use nutmeg instead of cinnamon, which can irritate the skin, and you can substitute the oils listen below for olive oil if you need to. This scrub is ideal to use all over on your body, but not your face.

  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin or fresh pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white cane sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil, pumpkin oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine all of the ingredients together in a medium bowl until the scrub forms a thick mixture. Pour scrub into jar, and seal tight.

In the shower, gently massage scrub onto damp skin in a circular motion. Rinse well. Try not to get extra water into the scrub jar.

Enjoy your soft, radiant skin!
