Make Your Own Canteen

Gathering your party guests around for a kid friendly craft idea always adds fun to your kid's birthday party. To help encourage the kids to stay hydrated when playing in the hot sun, try taking some time to craft a canteen with them.

We incorporated this craft into our camp party playdate and it was a big hit. After everyone had worked hard to claim their own retreat, they needed a little refreshment and this was a great time to have the kids decorate their own canteen.

For the rest of the party they had no trouble locating their own canteen since they had personalized it and it succeeded in keeping them hydrated!

Teepee Party Canteen Making

I found these adorable straw cups at a national chain grocery store for under $3. They conveniently have an insert that can be frozen to keep the drink cool during hot summer days.

Foam stickers are a fun way to let the kids personalize the cups. You can purchase them at most craft and hobbies stores and they come in a wide variety of shapes and colors.

Put out several bowls of stickers and let the kids to crazy decorating their canteens!
