Mini Burlap Christmas Tree Garland Tutorial

Trim your tree with mini burlap bunting flags this Christmas. If you are bored of the traditional tinsel and garland décor, you’ll love this craft.

Or if you aren’t ready to part with tradition, these mini burlap flags would still make a cute addition to your holiday décor. This craft is inexpensive and easy to do, my craft project prerequisites.

Not into burlap? Use a different kind of fabric or even colorful scrapbook paper instead. The best part of this Christmas decorating project is that you can reuse the bunting for parties and burlap goes with just about any color scheme. I plan on reusing this burlap bunting for a future dinosaur themed party and a cowgirl themed party.

This mini burlap tree bunting would make a great addition to the Christmas burlap bunting and burlap silhouette stockings

Craft Glue or Hot Glue

Jute or String

Black Marker

Bunting Template

Step 1: Print out the bunting template and cut out the diamond shape.

Step 2: Trace the bunting template onto burlap several times using a black marker, depending on how long you would like your bunting to be. Cut shapes out.

Step 3: Fold burlap diamonds in half to make a triangle. Iron a crease at the fold.

Step 4: Glue the burlap shapes onto a piece of jute or string, an inch apart, sandwiching the jute in between the fold. If you decide to use hot glue, take caution in not burning your fingers as glue will seep between the holes in the burlap. You may want to wear gloves or use a paper towel to press the burlap down when gluing.

Step 5: Wrap mini burlap bunting around your Christmas tree.
