Music Festival Survival Guide: 5 Must-Haves for Camping & Jamming Out

It’s that time of year again. That special time where hipsters, foodies, techies, music fanatics and yogis alike come together for their favorite festivals.

Bonnaroo just announced it’s amazing line-up and South by Southwest kicks things off in March, which means, it’s time to get festival ready! Here’s our 2014 Festival Survival Guide to get you ready for the packed crowds, dance sessions and all-nighters.

1. Hydration

Hydration is key at any festival; however, the lines tend to be long and open containers tend to present a problem for those with the clumsy gene. Instead of bring your refillable coffee cup, feed your inner hipster and bring your homemade Mason Jar Tumbler.

If you’re like us and cocktails are your hydration tool of choice, here are some amazing cocktails that were made for a Mason Jar

2. Dance Moves

Twerking not your thing? We agree. The best way to spruce up your dance moves for the big event is to grab a friend let loose!

3. Fancy Ear Plugs

While you might not mind your muffled hearing after a 3-day music festival, I bet your co-workers will feel differently when you are accidently screaming at them. So, what’s a person to do? Wearing boring ear buds is clearly not an option when you are surrounded by the who’s who of the festival world. Instead, snag a pair of these tassel ear buds to disguise your practical nature.

4. Buddy System

With large crowds and limited cell service, the buddy system is always a good idea. Have a wandering friend? Child leases always come in handy.

5. Fanny Pack

Fanny packs have a bad rap, yet they are very practical. They can hold your phone, money, hand sanitizer, camera and potentially additional clothing. If you’re having any doubts about sporting a pack, formally known as fanny, then just keep in mind – if it’s cool enough for Spiderman, it’s cool enough for you!
