Name That Christmas Song

There are many versions of "Name That Tune" and one of our favorite versions is "Name That Christmas Song"!

We love sitting around with friends and family on a cold, winter night playing this game, while opening presents and munching on some fabulous holiday treats! The great part about this Christmas party activity is that there are many ways it can be played.

Version One:

Re-write Christmas songs in different words.

Examples

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Experience a Joyous Tiny December 25th

O Holy Night - Oh Sacred Evening

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - A Jolly Man in a Red Suit is Arriving in Our Place of Residence

Jingle Bell Rock - Tinkling Chime Groove

All I Want for Christmas Is You - Everything I Hope for the Birth Day of Jesus is the 21st Letter of the Alphabet

Joy to the World - Bliss for the Planet

Christmas Time is Here - December 25th Has Arrived

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - Bambi with a Clown Nose

Frosty the Snowman - Chilly the Frozen Water Guy

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer - Mom's Mother Got Trampled by a Sleigh Puller

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Dancing Circles Near the December 25th Shrubbery

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - I Watched Mom Make Out With a Fat Guy in a Red Suit

Version Two

Alternatively, you can put random Christmas song lyrics on index cards.

First, distribute index cards with the names of Christmas songs in other words or the lyrics.

Then, have guests guess which song is which.

Finally, whoever has the most correct answers wins a prize!
