Celebrate National Girlfriends Day: 5 Creative No-Fuss Ideas

Our girlfriends mean everything to us; they're our therapists, workout buddies and personal stylists, all rolled into one. But we don't get to tell our lady friends how much we appreciate them enough — which is why Girlfriends Day on August 1 is the perfect reason!

Whether you're planning a fun night out on the town with your pals, or want to keep it low-key at home, we have five creative ideas that will help you and your girlfriends celebrate together. Get inspired by these fun no-fuss ideas that will show your friends just how much you love them — and won't break the bank!

1.Mix Up a Unique Cocktail

If you and your friends are tired of constantly ordering vodka sodas at the bar (how much club soda, lime and vodka can one possibly handle?), then make them something especially creative, and equally low-cal. Invite your girls over for some after-work drinks and serve up our Spiked Organic Rosemary Lemonade Fizz. It's made with just a few fresh ingredients, and is a refreshing summer cocktail. The Kissters show you how to make this delicious drink all your friends will love.

2. Make a Tasty App

Whether you're planning on hitting the town for a wild night out or staying in, snacks are always a must! Invite your friends over for some pre-party apps and drinks, and make this tasty Summer Fruit Bruschetta. Nosh on this delicious concoction, made with strawberries, peaches and basil, while you get ready for your night out, or are enjoying an evening in.

3. Make a Personalized DIY Gift

If getting together isn't a possibility, send your pals an old-fashioned homemade gift with a modern and chic update. Our DIY Initial Earrings are really easy (and inexpensive!)  to make, and are a creative and personalized gift your girls will love. Make their initials, the initials of their significant other (a la Kim Kardashian rocking a pair of KW earrings for Kanye West), or of their kids! Put them in a cute little baggie and secure with some string and a fun gift tag.

4. Host a Low-Key Move Night

Gather up (and have your friends bring) over your favorite movies, and have an old-school movie night! To really invoke some nostalgia, watch your favorite movies from growing up and nosh on some bad-for-you treats (Twizzlers and Dots anyone?). But  instead of gushing over JTT or Andrew Keegan, you'll be fawning Ryan Gosling or Bradley Cooper. Swoon!

5. At-Home Spa Treatments

Most of us don't have the time and cash to spend an entire afternoon at the spa with our girlfriends, so bring the spa to you with these relaxing (and simple) DIY spa ideas. Gather your girls together for a fun evening in, or make them a batch of DIY scrub or homemade lotion and gift it to them in cute little mason jars.
