One Year Anniversary Ideas

Every Anniversary is important, but certain years may require a little more time and consideration when planning the perfect evening and choosing the perfect gift. The one year anniversary is one of them. After all, this is the first anniversary you are celebrating with your hubby as an officially married couple.

As tradition has it, the one year anniversary gift is paper. Since paper isn't too exciting on it's own, we've chosen some fun decor ideas and cute crafts out of paper to really set a festive one year anniversary mood.

Incorporate paper into your decor for that true "one year anniversary" feel. Instead of a fresh and pricey bouquet of roses, make your own adorable and chic paper flowers!

For your centerpiece, create your own paper candelabra to 'light up' the table and set the mood. For a super elegant touch, surround the faux candelabra with subtle and elegant tea lights.

Since you've only been married for a year, chances are you don't have any tiny mouths to feed-yet. That means (hopefully) you're responsibilities haven't overflowed your plate yet and you still have time to dedicate to pampering yourself and your significant other. Take this chance to create a really festive and memorable feast to enjoy on your special day.

If you and your loved one are fish fanatics, why not try your hand at making your own sushi? You can add the ingredients you especially love, and omit any foreign ingredients you may not be too crazy about.

The perfect side to a sushi dinner is a delicious fried rice inspired by oriental flavors. Sushi is tasty, but not always filling so make sure to have a side to complement the dish.

Drinks and Desserts

Such an elegant occasion deserves an equally elegant dessert to celebrate with. This Ice Cream Tartufo is equal parts elegant, celebratory, and delicious!

Since it's your first official anniversary celebration, take this opportunity to toast to the past year as well as to the long and healthy future you two have ahead of you. Try this light and tasty Lemon Scented Champagne Cocktail for the perfect celebratory drink to end the dinner with. Cheers!

Since your one year anniversary gift should be paper themed, we suggest incorporating paper into the gift itself as well as the way you present the gift. Create your own 'gift bow' out of paper with heartfelt messages attached to each layer.

For the actual gift, personalized stationary fits the bill and you can really show your hubby how well you know them by picking a stationary that really reflects their personality.
