Plan Ahead When it Comes to Wedding Day Beauty

Like many brides-to-be, you may be thinking about losing weight for your wedding day.  But please don’t go on a random, fad diet! If you are overweight, think of getting married as a path to a brand new life – and the perfect time to alter your lifestyle, food-wise, as well. And while you’re at it, assess other health aspects of your daily life, such as exercise.

The first step towards a healthier lifestyle should begin by scheduling an appointment with your general practitioner to address your overall health and well-being and attend to any medical issues you might have. A complete assessment of your weight goals should also be part of this appointment.

Next, research nutrition guidelines and standards to learn what a balanced diet includes. The internet is an excellent source of information, provided you visit qualified sites such as Health.gov and Mayoclinic.com.

A visit to your local bookstore for titles on healthy eating is also a good idea, but if you are pressed for time, it may be worth your while to seek out a nutritionist who can provide you with meal plan suggestions.

Big Day Beauty Tips: Plan Ahead

When you're a bride, there's nowhere to hide. But why would you want to, unless you haven’t done your very utmost to look your very best?

To make sure that your hair and makeup are as close to perfection as humanly possible, you have to plan ahead of time. Your beauty strategy should include visiting a trusted hair salon way in advance of the wedding date, to discuss the current status of your hair (cut, color, texture).

In addition, make an appointment with a good cosmetic artist. This is the person who will look closely at your face – your bone structure, your eyebrows, your chin, your skin tone – and then make recommendations in regard to your wedding day make up.

Before doing so, she’ll want to know what style gown you are wearing and the jewelry that will be accompanying your headpiece and veil.  Note: It’s best if you have made all of these purchases at this point and even better if you can show her photos of your wedding gown and accessories.

This visual will help her determine a makeup application style and color palette that will work best with your attire.

As you begin seeking out these pros, prepare to:

Let your eyebrows grow out, so that your makeup artist can recommend a shape that best suits your eyes.

Grow out your current hairstyle and research different hairdos that will complement your face, headpiece and veil.

Discuss with your stylist whether you might need hair extensions.

Experiment with a variety of eye shadow color palettes until you find one that you are one hundred percent happy with for the big day.

Set up a hair color treatment schedule so your roots won’t show on your wedding day.

Inquire about eyelash tinting, stimulators or extensions.

Visit your dentist for a general cleaning and checkup and look into teeth straightening and whitening if these are concerns.

Don’t leave nails for the last minute – regular manicures and pedicures will ensure picture-perfection from head to hand to toe!
