Pomegranate Martini Recipe

For Valentine's Day, you'll want to sip on an adult beverage that's romantic, but easy to mix up. Luckily, this pomegranate martini is as tasty as it is pretty.

What’s more romantic then sipping martinis on Valentines Day, especially pomegranate martinis? These cocktails are sweet and tart. but not too strong. They are also easy to make, and can be prepared in advance and enjoyed later as you want to. Plus, the lovely red color is the perfect color for a Valentines Day cocktail!

  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 3 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup (1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water)

First, be sure you have cooled simple syrup ready to go. To make simple syrup, put 1-part sugar and 1-part water (for this recipe, use ½ cup sugar and ½ water) in a small saucepan and place the pan over medium heat. Allow the mixture to cook until the mixture comes to boil and the sugar has completely dissolved into the water. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool completely. To speed up the process, I carefully pour the simple syrup into a separate jar/bowl and place the jar in the refrigerator until it’s completely cool. This process takes at least 1 hour (especially the cooling process) so be sure to make this simple syrup ahead of time.

To make the large batch of martinis, place all the ingredients – pomegranate juice, vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup – into a large pitcher. Stir until combined. According to your taste level, you can add the following to:

  • -Add more vodka to make it stronger.
  • -Add more pomegranate juice to add more pomegranate flavor.
  • -Add more lime juice to make the martini more acidic.
  • -Add more simple sugar to make it sweeter.

Martinis are meant to be served cold, so the best way to prepare a single martini is to use a martini shaker. Place ice in the martini shaker and then fill the shaker according to the serving size. Shake until the mixture gets cold. Pour the liquid into a martini glass, leaving the ice behind.

If you would like to chill the martinis all at once, you can also just place the entire pitcher in the refrigerator until it’s completely chilled. Serve immediately.

Serves: 6-10 adults
