'SNL' Premiere Watch Party Essentials

After an incredibly long and mostly laugh-free summer, "Saturday Night Live" finally returns on Sept. 28, with former head writer, alum and overall comedic genius Tina Fey as the season 39 premiere host.

I am so excited, I literally cannot contain my emotions.

SNL is always a must-watch event every week, but the season premiere with our dear Tina back on stage definitely calls for a celebration. For your epic SNL watch party, be sure to include these essential games, drinks, snacks and décor for a fun night no one will forget.

30 Rock Candy

“Saturday Night Live” famously films in studio 8H on the 8th and 9th floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. To pay homage to the historic New York City building, serve some 30 Rock Candy. Having 30 sticks on hand would be a nice touch. Find out how to make your own at She Knows.

Sarah Palin’s Baked Alaskas

With Tina back on the show, we’re hoping (begging) she’ll reprise her role as former governor Sarah Palin. What better way to pay tribute to the former Vice Presidential nominee’s home state than with this delicious dessert? Even if Sarah Palin doesn’t make an appearance, it will still make for a tasty treat. Make these individual Baked Alaskas from Beard and Bonnet.

Weekend Update Whisky Cocktail

Along with being the head writer on the show, Tina hosted Weekend Update on SNL from 2000-2006, when she left. Weekend Update is also getting a major shake-up, with new cast member Cecily Strong taking over for Seth Meyers as host of the iconic segment. Whip one of these Weekend Update Whisky Cocktails in honor of Seth’s departure (he’s taking over for Jimmy Fallon over on Late Night), and Tina’s triumphant return. Plus, the drinks are extra stiff -- perfect for a Saturday night!

Mustache Drinking Game

We are a big fan of mustaches around here at Celebrations, so it’s no surprise we love playing the mustache drinking game. To play, simply make some paper mustaches, or felt ones like the one above from the Crafty Little Cricket store on Etsy. Tape to your TV screen. During the program, take a drink anytime someone is in position with the mustache in the right spot on his or her face. Drink twice if it’s the host, Tina!
