Vibrant Table Setting for a Soccer-Themed Birthday Party

Planning for kids birthday parties may seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t take much to create a soccer-themed table setting for my soccer birthday party. Instead of going overboard with the trinkets and decor, it’s best to go simple and clean with some fun pops of color.

To create this table setting, I started out with a white tablecloth and white dishes. I wanted to bring out green in the table setting to correlate with the green grass of a soccer field, so I placed a green pattered runner down the middle of the table, and added simple green napkins. I also used green glass soda bottles (Sprite, in this case) to bring a fun, vintage flare to the table. To pull the whole table together, I placed three large soccer balls in the center of the table — all in bright colors.

As an added bonus, I placed small sport lanyards on each place setting. Not only is it perfect for a soccer fan, but it makes for a nice party favor!

  • White tablecloth
  • White plates
  • Green patterned table runner (I used green and white chevron)
  • 3 colorful soccer balls, on stands
  • Sprite (or any type of soda) in green glass bottles
  • Small lanyard as a favor for each guest
  • Soccer ball cut-outs (for the place setting — I placed these on the lanyards)

Set the table with a white tablecloth and white dishware.

Place a green patterned runner down the center of the table.

Place 3 colorful and fun soccer balls in the center of the table. Be sure to place the soccer balls on individual stands (you don’t want the balls rolling off the table!).

Set out individual-sized sodas in glass bottles. I used Sprite because it went with the green soccer-colored theme (plus, if you have small kids, they don't need any extra caffeine!)

Purchase small, inexpensive sport lanyards and place them at each place setting as a favor for each guest. If you aren't worried about your kiddos making too much noise, you can even attach whistles to the ends.
