13 Creatively Spicy Sriracha Recipes

Sriracha was no doubt the hot condiment of 2013. Heading into 2014, the spicy red bottle with the iconic green cap has been popping up in more and more on diner tabletop, in the aisles of grocery stores and as the secret ingredient in some of our favorite Thai dishes.

Even here at Celebrations, our office fridge runs through Sriracha faster than we can say “hot,” and I’ve spotted coworkers drizzle it on everything from sandwiches to salads.

Since we can’t get enough of the spicy stuff – and we are potentially facing a shortage thanks to the shutdown of a California Sriracha sauce plant – I’ve rounded up some delicious and unique recipes that feature the tasty stuff.

Did you know you could put Sriracha in brownies? How about as a topping on popcorn? Sriracha addicts, meet your new delicious dishes.

1. Sriracha Basil Popcorn

This spicy popcorn, created by the geniuses over at We Are Not Martha and featured in Parade magazine, is a zesty snack that includes fresh basil, lime juice and of course, the spicy condiment.

2. Sriracha Pecan Brittle Brownies

Sriracha… in brownie? Yep, according to this decadent-looking dessert from Southern Souffle. The combination of sweet and spicy sounds irresistible.

3. Healthy Sriracha Buffalo Wings

You had us at buffalo wings, but now that we know these beautiful bites from Best Recipe Box are made from our favorite condiment and are healthy? Excuse me while I make a huge batch of these and eat them in 16.2 seconds flat.

4. Sriracha Maple Oyster Crackers

Mmm, talk about a quick and easy snack. These beautiful bites from The Cookie Rookie would be perfect on their own, or scattered on top of a hearty bowl of chili.

5. Sriracha Bloody Mary

Swap out your Tabasco for some Sriracha (and maybe some sriracha vodka, if you are feeling ambitious!) in your Bloody Mary. Talk about a delicious brunch cocktail. Check out our own homemade recipe here

6. Sriracha Shrimp Cheese Dip

Ooey, gooey, cheesy with a hint of spice. This shrimp dish from Cooking with Books is perfect for a party (hint: The Super Bowl), vegetarians who eat fish and pretty much anyone who has taste buds. Make it a little healthier and serve with celery, or go all-out and scoop a heaping pile onto chips or crackers.

7.  Sriracha Shrimp Cocktail

For a tamer fish dish, use some Sriracha in shrimp cocktail sauce to dip cool cocktail shrimp, like this recipe from Yummly and the White on Rice couple. It’s subtle twist on a party appetizer favorite.

8. Sweet Potato Skillet Stack with Sriracha Orange Sauce

Can we just talk about how nice this presentation is? Never mind that sweet potatoes are de-lish, and that Srarcha combined with sweet oranges makes for the ultimate side dish. This recipe from The Fit Fork was made for Thanksgiving, but I think it’s safe to say it can be enjoyed all year long.

9. Veggie Sriracha Fried Rice

Sriracha is most commonly used in Asian dishes, so this veggie fried rice from Bake Your Day is more of a traditional Sriracha creation.

10. Sriracha Guacamole

Love your guac a little spicy? Us too. Spice it up with some Sriracha, as featured in this recipe from Damn Delicious.

11. Sriracha Shrimp Toast

I see a shrimp pattern happening here. This perfect party app from The Kitchy Kitchen is a little on the complicated side, but will surely impress your guests (or at-home dinner date).

12. Sriracha Mac and Cheese

There are only a few things we love more than mac and cheese, especially creative mac and cheese recipes. This recipe from Shutterbean mixes our favorite condiment right into the cheese sauce, and drizzles the good stuff on top. De-lish.

13. Twice-Cooked French Fries with Sriracha Mayo

OK, the Sriracha in this recipe is only for the delicious dipping sauce, but we’re a sucker for fries and anything that makes them tastier. This gastro-pub inspired recipe from Daisy’s World looks like it would be perfect with a cold craft beer and some indie music flowing from a record player.
