St. Patrick's Day Party Playlist

Before you add green food coloring to your beer, before you mix up a Boozy Shamrock Shake and before you set out some adorable Drunken Cupcake Pops, you need to pick the tunes for your St. Patrick's Day party.

Like most American-spun holidays, St. Patrick's Day is a time to honor another culture by being completely over-the-top and obnoxious. We like to pay homage to the Irish with lots of green beer, shamrocks and gold coins.

And in that spirit, I've put together a super-fun St. Paddy's Day party playlist that's filled with faux-Irish-American tunes, and will certainly get you pumped up for St. Pat's. Take a look at some of my favorite Irish-inspired songs, and get inspired to create your own playlist on Songza, Spotify or your iPhone.

From punk-Celtic tunes by Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, to alternative songs by legitimate Irish bands including The Cranberries and B*Witched,  these jams will certainly put you in the St. Paddy's Day spirit.

Hint: Dancing an Irish jig while rocking out to these jams is not required, but highly recommended.
