Start the Year Off with a School Calendar

The earlier you get your little ones started on the path to organization, the easier they will find keeping track of their every day activities, assignments, and obligations in the future.

One of the best ways to get your kids started on the path to success is by helping them create their own school calendar – filled with their school trips, days off, and class celebrations!

A school wall calendar will even help make mom and dads lives easier, too! You’ll not only be able to avoid that accusatory call home when you’ve forgotten to pack a lunch for field trip day (it happens to the best of us), but you’ll also find it a lot easier to manage your own obligations.

Use the calendar to mark extracurricular activities like dance class and baseball practice, too. This way, your little athletes will know their set schedule and will have an easier time setting aside time for homework and playtime.

Let Your Calendars Tell a Story

Simply filling out and hanging your calendar isn’t enough – you’ll have to think of fun and creative ways to get your child excited about incorporating the planner into their every day lives.

An easy way to do this is by customizing your calendar with photos of family get-togethers and trips according to month. For summer months, use photos of the family lounging on the beach or maybe that too-cute-for-words photo of your little munchkin covered in chocolate ice cream.  Each time they see they check the schedule for the day; they will be reminded of that fond getaway or memory.

Countdown to Greatness

Once you have your calendar filled out with this year’s special events, you can use it to easily plan the school year accordingly, such as the best time for the annual family vacation.

The school week may seem endless, but when your little genius looks at the calendar and sees that the family reunion is in 2 weeks, it’ll be that much easier for them to put in that extra bit of effort and get through the week. Use stickers to further enhance the excitement! The month of a special event or trip, purchase festive stickers and have your child use them to countdown the days to the occasion.

Create Your Own Holidays

When you choose to have your own custom calendars printed, you have the unique option of creating your own holiday! Okay, so you won’t find the whole country celebrating little Timmy’s 10 birthday, but if it’s printed on a calendar, you bet Timmy will feel like a real winner on his special day.

Aside from printing birthdays, you can have fun with the holidays. The day before Christmas Eve why not celebrate “cookies and milk day” with a day of baking tasty kid-friendly cookies to leave out for Santa.

Give your little one the chance to invent his or her own holiday, too! When that day comes around, be sure to put together some fun food items and family-friendly crafts to celebrate. If they chose to include it on their personal planner, it must be important!
