Super Bowl Party Games for the Commercial Enthusiast

You may come for the football, but it’s no secret that you stay for the creative commercials that some of your favorite brands have cooked up.

Turn the commercial breaks into a fun-fueled activity with one of these exciting Super Bowl party games!

Play Commercial Bingo

Print out our Super Bowl Bingo cards and get ready for some commercial bingo fun! Download our completed version here, and then use those same ideas and terms to create several different versions of the board. You can download the blank version of our Super Bowl Bingo board here

Cut out small football shapes using heavy paper (construction or cardstock) to use as chips. The first fan to complete a full row and yell B-I-N-G-O wins!

Super Bowl Commercial Drinking Game

This is a simple game you should keep going all throughout the show. Any time a certain product is shown or word is said, have guests drink for 1-10 seconds, depending on the word.

Print out several lists (enough for each one of your guests) of the key words and "rules". Customize the list to highlight some of your favorite parts about the Super Bowl commercials, and get ready for some tipsy fun!

Here are some of our recommendations for this drinking game:

Any time you see a car: 2 seconds

Any time you see a baby: 2 seconds

Someones laughs: 3 seconds

Someones cries: 3 seconds

Any time you see a famous musician in a commercial: 5 seconds

Any time there's a talking animal: 6 seconds

Any time someone is drinking : 8 seconds

Any time you see beer or liquor in the commercial: 10 seconds!

Potato Chip on the Nose

As soon as a chip commercial comes on, invite guests to compete in a battle of creative eating with this simple but hilarious “Potato Chips on the Nose” Game. The person who eats the most chips by the time the commercial is over wins!

The Ad Bowl

Invite guests to keep track of their favorite ads of the year with this adorable Ad Bowl Score card from Amy Atlas. Once the games come to an end, you can swap ratings and stories about your favorite ads of the year. A great way to keep the Super Bowl fun going!

Commercial Re-Enactment

While we anxiously await the advertisers to shock us or make us “laugh out loud”, we are also awaiting the ads from the brands we are used to seeing on the Super Bowl Screen. From soda brands to car commercials, there’s something to be said about a staple Super Bowl Commercial.

For a fun activity that guests will want to try out as they get their beer buzz on, write a bunch of different brands that commonly advertise during the Super Bowl on small pieces of paper. Put all of those in a bowl and have guests who want to participate choose a brand. In teams of 2-3, have your guest make their own impromptu commercial for that brand!

You’ll want to prep beforehand for this quick activity, so gather all your costumes and props for the fun to really roll.

This game is sure to get tons of laughs, so be sure your camera is fully charged out so they can relive the hilarity (and horror) over and over until next year’s game.
